I purchased this on ebay for under ten, including shipping.Aftet buying and using my first one, I have since returned to buy several more for gifts.This mold is soft and pliable silicone. I have used both milk chocolate Hersey bars and dark chocolate. I prefer the milk chocolate. I added a few chocolate chips and a bit of parafin to my last batch of Hersey milk chocolate candy bars when melting.I found it is easier to set the mold on a flat pan, then fill each cavity carefully with the melted chocolate. (I use a double boiler so that their is no chance of burning the chocolate.) Better to underfill, than overfill the roses. Immediately, bang the pan on the counter a couple of times to release bubbles and allow the chocolate to completely fill all the crevices in the mold. Then simply put the pan in the freezer. Freeze until completely solid, generally 20 minutes or so, before unmolding. To unmold, manipulate the mold like you will be turning it inside out. The roses pop out and look gorgeous. Store in the refrigerator or freezer until ready to use.I washed my mold before using, then waited for it to dry completely. Any water left in the mold will ruin your roses. There is no need to wash the mold between batches--unmold and immediately refill with chocolate. If you don't have time to unmold them, they can sit in the freezer for days before you finish up.For Valentines Day I made large heart cookies. Frosted them with white frosting, then drizzled them with fine lines of the chocolate rose melted chocolate. When I was ready to add a single rose to the middle of the cookie. I added a dot of white frosting to the center of the cookie and placed the chocolate rose on the dot of frosting. Beautiful!I want to try making these roses out of the melt away colored chocolate candy and perhaps the candy coating used when dipping pretzels.While I have only owned this mold for about six months, it appears to be durable and I expect it will last for years. I can give this mold a solid buy recommendation!At the time I purchased this mold, I purchased a number of other molds. My plan was to use them to decorate mini cheececakes made in my Norpro mini cheesecake pan. This specific mold was the best of the lot. Some of the other molds did not live up to my expectations.
